Mark had traded in a unique line at his well-known spot at the bottom of Northampton Market for over 18 years.
Because Mark came only every Tuesday, his years of service counted for little with NBC, who value how many stalls you rent above how long you have traded. So after the recent move Mark was offered stalls buried deep in the upper area of the Market, where his customers would have difficulty finding him.
Disgusted with this treatment, Mark left the Market, and Northampton Market lost a first-class long-serving trader and a unique line.
